On this page we organize a basic survival checklist in Atins. Our intention is not to create a mandatory manual, but we believe that all information is useful, especially if it is your first time here!

Here we go:

1. Beside biquinis and swim clothes, your best friends here in Atins will be the sun lotion, hat, UV protection shirt and repellent, really essential.

2. Always choose soft and light clothes, the days here seem to be really hot.

3. Don't bring heavy shoes and high heels, you are going to spend most of your time in sandals (or shoeless). Even if you're able to use them sometimes in some restaurants or inside the Inns, every time you move you will have to step on the sand.

4. Always carry water, juices and whatever you can to hydrate yourself, if possible.

5. The only operator that works in Atins is VIVO. Bars, restaurants and inns have Wi-Fi, but the signal tends to oscillate and fiber cables sometimes break. For those guests who intend to work online and remotely, for example, it's best not to take risks and get organized in advance.

6. Pets are prohibited from entering the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, so keep that in mind when making a reservation. Not every pet friendly inn, that is, one that accepts pets, has the structure and/or exclusive staff to stay with them while the owners are away.

7. The water in Atins has a yellowish tone due to the high incidence of iron and manganese present in the Preguiças River and groundwater that is directly influenced by the large mangroves adjacent to the town. Despite the use of several filters, this color may occasionally appear more intense on taps, don't worry, this is normal.
8. If you need to take any important medication, or have any allergies, don't forget to bring these medications with you. Atins is a simple village and has a basic pharmacy, with essential and general items but no specific medicines. Our Basic Health Unit operates intermittently, so it is best to take precautions if you are in this context.

9. The voltage of our sockets is 220v, be careful when connecting your accessories, devices and equipment to electricity.
